EBRD within the EU4Business initiative supports Ukrainian Publishers

This welcome word from the EBRD emphasizes the reasons and the importance of supporting the Ukrainian book publishing sector. Book publishing is one of the leading creative sectors, which has been defined at the governmental level as one of the priority areas for export development.

According to the official statistics, the Ukrainian publishing industry is mainly represented by small and medium-sized businesses and therefore requires special support. For the last few years, the EBRD, with the financial support of the EU under the EU4Business Initiative, has implemented a comprehensive program aimed at supporting small and medium-sized enterprises in Ukraine.

Current Ukrainian Literature: Rights Now! Program, as its integral part, aims to support Ukrainian book publishers in their struggle to enter the world market, which has become even more challenging during the quarantine.

The activities planned under the program are designed to help the Ukrainian books find their places on the shelves of foreign readers by establishing direct B2B contacts between Ukrainian and foreign publishers.
